Crystal Palace visit Goodison Park to face Everton in the FA Cup 3rd round replay, with the winner facing Luton Town at their home ground.
The last time out in the FA Cup was the first game against Crystal Palace, where the match finished goalless. In that match came a controversial VAR decision on a red card for Everton and English striker Dominic Calver-Lewin. This was later overturned days after the game, but if Dominic receives another one, he will be suspended for four games! Which doesn't make sense as the last one was overturned.
Crystal Palace will be without their main threat, Michael Olise, for the game due to a hamstring injury, which is a big advantage for Everton, who are without Ashley Young, but there are replacements available to take his spot.
Abdoulaye Doucoure returned from injury against Aston Villa on the weekend, which was a big miss for the Blues, and he will feature.
In Sean Dyche's press conference in the lead-up to the game, there was a lot of focus on the sanction that the Premier League will put against the club. Here is what he had to say:
"I knew not too far before, on a need to know basis.
I've been here approaching a year, and on my timeline we're in the bottom 3 net spend so that's the club motioning to get there."
"We sold young players, which we normally wouldn't do, the new stadium being developed, the old stadium being used for good causes, and trying to find ways to sign players."
"I'm sure there have been mistakes made, but that happens in football. An on-pitch sanction but we've been trying to cut things."
He also said that the situation does not put him off working for the club and that he will continue to do his very best for everyone.
