Everton host Tottenham Hotspur at 12:30 on Saturday lunchtime, where the Toffees seem to be underdogs going into this fixture.
Everton's last game against Fulham at Craven Cottage was reasonably disappointing. They had chances to score but didn't seem to put any shots into the back of the net, resulting in a goalless draw away from home.
Tottenham's last game was at home against Brentford, and it was a goalfest. A 3-2 victory against the Bees followed some controversy over Brentford striker Neal Maupay, who is on loan at the club from the Blues. He opened the scoring within the first 15 minutes and copied James Maddison's signature darts celebration. When Tottenham came back, to mock the player, they did it back. This has caused a flair-up from both Maddison and Maupay over Instagram, with both players mocking the other.
Back to the Everton fixture, Sean Dyche revealed in his press conference that midfielder Amadou Onana and attacker Arnaut Danjuma are both doubts for the weekend. However, midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye is in contention to play in this match following his return to club football after unfortunately being knocked out of the African Cup of Nations by Ivory Coast on penalties.
On the other hand, one of Tottenham Hotspur's threats, winger Heung Min Son, will not be available for this game due to his representing his home nation, South Korea, in the Asia Cup.
Ex-Everton player and now Tottenham player Richarlison will be returning to Goodison Park as a rival player after his choice to leave the club in the summer transfer window for £50 million plus £10 million in add-ons. Following his 67 goal contributions for the Blues in 152 appearances and his legendary devotion to the club, I am sure he will be commemorated if he does feature tomorrow.
