Premier League Returns As Everton Host The Bees


The international break is over, with the next set of matches in March, and Premier League football returns!


Everton host Thomas Frank’s Brentford at Goodison Park, with the Toffees hoping to create some points due to the ominous December fixture run Sean Dyche and his squad may suffer with.

Thomas Frank and Brentford currently sit at a very comfortable eleventh place in the league table, winning five, drawing one, and losing five. The Bees hosted Bournemouth before the break, and two goals from Yoane Wissa and one from Mikkel Damsgaard marked a statement win as they came out victorious in a 3-2 win.

A duo in the Brentford side who seem to be ripping teams apart this season is Bryan Mbuemo and Yoane Wissa. Mbuemo currently has eight goals in the Premier League already this season with Wissa in a foot race with his teammate with seven goals. Although neither played for this respective nations during the set of international matches, Thomas Frank, in his press conference, claimed that he expects both of them to return to action away against the Blues.


On the other hand, Jarrad Branthwaite may return to the first team as he is being assessed prior to the game, as well as Dwight McNeil. The more long-term injuries, Armando Broja is edging closer and closer to making that first appearance since signing for the club on a season-long loan in the summer. Portuguese attacker Youseff Chermiti is also getting closer to returning after his foot injury that required surgery.

During the international break, Jordan Pickford has now racked up 73 caps for England in between the sticks, matching the legendary Gordon Banks! Beto, Gueye, Ndiaye, Mangala, Mykolenko, and O’Brien were also called up to play for their countries as well.
