Everton have confirmed that Lewis Dobbin has left the club and has joined Aston Villa on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, rumoured to be in the region of £10m.
Dobbin has made 12 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, scoring in a 2-0 win over Chelsea last season.
It seems both Everton and Aston Villa are working together to overcome debts to stay over the threshold of PSR rules, with both clubs transferring players in opposite directions as Villa sold Tim Iroegbunam to Everton on the 23rd June.
Everton Statement:
Lewis Dobbin has completed a permanent transfer to Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
The Stoke-born forward, who joined Everton aged 11, made 20 senior appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal in a 2-0 home win over Chelsea last season.
Dobbin had previously spent the 2022/23 campaign with then-League One outfit Derby County, making 54 appearances and scoring five goals in all competitions for the Rams.
Everyone at the Club would like to thank Lewis for his contribution to Everton, from his journey through our Academy to Senior Team, and we wish him all the best for the future.
Aston Villa Statement:
Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Lewis Dobbin from Everton.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut for the Goodison Park club in 2021 before spending the 2022/23 season on loan at Derby County.
Dobbin featured regularly in Everton's matchday squads throughout last season, scoring his first Premier League goal against Chelsea in December.
The forward has also represented England at various youth levels.
