Jarrad Branthwaite's 90+3 minute equaliser from a flick on from Tottenham defender Romero after a free kick into the box from Everton winger Dwight McNeil was enough for the Toffees to claim a point!
Ex-Everton player Richarlison opened the scoring in the fourth minute after a poor piece of defending from the Blues as he slotted the ball into the top right corner of the net with his left foot. He refused to celebrate, and following this, the majority of Evertonians around Goodison Park applauded to show respect for the man.
The game continued on, and Everton seemed to be the best team on the pitch. Going into the end of the first half, the Toffees were on top and had loads of chances, but as per usual, they weren't able to take them.
Until the 30th minute, when Everton had a corner. Again, McNeil whipped it into the box; it hit the woodwork and bounced back to both striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and winger Jack Harrison. It seemed that both of them swung at the ball, but Calvert-Lewin was the one celebrating. Not long after, it was revealed that it actually came off Harrison and he went for it, so the goal went his way.
Up until the 41st minute, when Tottenham broke, Everton were on top. Unfortunately, again, Richarlison tucked it home and gave Tottenham the lead going into the second half. Again, he refused to celebrate, but it seemed there was a lot of frustration in the crowd as Everton were unlucky to concede and now have a tough test going into the second half.
As the game started in the second half, there were chances to go ahead, but it seemed everything was going the opposite way. Awful referring decisions one by one by Michael Oliver was nearly Everton fans' breaking point.
It got to the fourth minute of additional time now, and Everton received a free kick in the middle of the Tottenham half, a perfect opportunity to whip the ball in, and that is what happened. Dwight McNeil played the ball in the box perfectly, and Tottenham defender Christian Romero attempted to clear the ball by heading it, but it hit the wrong side of his head and played into the path of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who had one job from 3 yards out, and that was to put it into the back of the net.
That is exactly what he did, but there was a VAR decision for an offside that would have been the final nail in the coffin if that would've gone in. Fortunately for Everton fans, it wasn't, and the game finished 2-2!
Sean Dyche has revealed defender Ben Godfrey was subbed off with cramp, so he should be fine.
Also, he said that winger Arnaut Danjuma is very doubtful for next weekend.
