Everton Travel To London To Face Injury-Stricken Chelsea

Everton travel down south to the capital on Monday night to face a Chelsea side with a huge injury crisis.

As per their standards, it is clear that Chelsea have underperformed; evidence of this is shown by their position in the league table.

Here is what the league table is looking like in the run-in to the end of the season. Both relegation and title winners are unknown because of how tight it is at both ends.

Premier League Table

(as of 14/4/24 at 11am):

1 Man City 73

2 Arsenal 71

3 Liverpool 71

4 Aston Villa 60

5 Spurs 60

6 Newcastle 50

7 Man United 50

8 West Ham 48

9 Chelsea 44

10 Brighton 44

11 Wolves 43

12 Bournemouth 42

13 Fulham 39

14 Brentford 32

15 Crystal Palace 30

16 Everton 27

17 Forest 26

18 Luton 25

19 Burnley 20

20 Sheffield United 16

With 2 points separating the top 3, and 7 point separating 19-16, it is unpredictable what will happen at the end of the season.

Multiple key players are missing for Chelsea, and these include:

Ben Chilwell

Axel Disasi

Enzo Fernandez

Robert Sanchez

Raheem Sterling

Levi Colwill

Wesley Fofana

Reece James

Romeo Lavia

Christopher Nkunku

Lesley Ugochukuwu

More than likely none will feature, giving an advantage to Everton, where 3 points would be fantastic due to Burnley being the only team in the relegation battle to pick up a point.

13th April 2024 - Premier League Results:

Brentford 2-0 Sheffield United

Man City 5-1 Luton

15th April 2024 - Premier League Fixture:

Chelsea vs Everton

For Everton, their two games in hand are against Chelsea and Liverpool, a couple of tough fixtures.

In Sean Dyche’s press conference in the lead up to the game, it was revealed that Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana is fit again, as well as other midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye, after his wife gave birth on Saturday, causing him to be out for the 1-0 victory over Burnley on the weekend.

However, both Englishmen, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Garner, had to stop training on Thursday due to a knock, but Dyche said that it was nothing serious.

Lewis Dobbin is still not ready, and Dele is still recovering from a groin injury.

Everton’s fixtures remaining are arguably the easiest out of the other sides at the bottom end of the table, meaning it is in Everton’s hands to decide their fate.
