Everton’s Error Results In A Cherries’ Win

Everton throw away even more points as an own goal by defender Seamus Coleman in the 90+1 minute gave opposition Bournemouth a 2-1 victory to conclude the match.

Although Everton may have thrown away points, the teams around us in the league wasn't all bad! Here is a roundup of the Premier League results today.

Premier League Results 30/3/24:

(Excluding games after 3pm kick-off)

  • Newcastle 4-3 West Ham

  • Chelsea 2-2 Burnley

  • Sheffield United 3-3 Fulham

  • Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace

  • Bournemouth 2-1 Everton

  • Tottenham 2-1 Luton

With no one below us winning, and only gaining the point via a draw, it seemed Everton got away with it! (Reminder: Aston Villa v Wolves AND Brentford v Man United still to be played...)

Back to the game, the first goal came in the 67th minute when a ball over the top was headed into the roof of the net by Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke to give the home side the advantage.

Everton's weak form in front of goal seemed to work itself into the players' minds, as up until the 87th minute there was no real drive.

A dropped ball by Neto, the Bournemouth goalkeeper, gifted Beto an open net, which he took well, drawing the match level and making it all to play for.

There was just additional time to play, and Everton could travel back up north with a point. That was until a miscommunication between Everton defender Seamus Coleman and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford occurred, where a ball hit the chest of the Irish defender and ended up in the back of the net. An own-goal after 91 minutes of action would ultimately determine the outcome of the game.
