Everton battled it out right to the final whistle to take a point from Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
It was expected that there would be a few changes for the Blues, as Sean Dyche had confirmed that decisions would be made late on for many players.

It didn’t take long for Everton to go ahead. In the twelfth minute, Senegalese attacker Iliman Ndiaye picked up the ball just inside the Foxes’ penalty area. A drop of the shoulder and a sweet strike that ricocheted off the post ended up in the back of net, giving Everton the lead.
Iliman Ndiaye Everton Stats:
Appearances: 7
Goals: 2
Assists: 0
Soon after Ndiaye’s goal, Leicester were on the attack, and an awkward shot towards Jordan Pickford, which seemed to be looping down between the gap of Pickford’s hands and the crossbar, meant the Englishman had to deal with the chance with caution. As it hit the bar and bounced towards the floor, Pickford managed to handle it. Claims of the ball going past the line were soon dismissed by referee Darren England.
Though some Everton players had to play in unfamiliar positions, a strong example being James Garner in that right-back position, he seemed to cope with the challenge set reasonably well, as it seemed Leicester were focussing their attacks down the wings, especially through Garner’s man Mavididi.
Torrential rain and lightning and an extended half-time break was a questionable situation, but soon enough both teams were out on the pitch, ready for the second half action!
The first period of the second half was extremely even, with no real clear-cut chances being created. However, it has been a regular occurrence for Everton this season to control and maintain a good form for 3/4 of the game, then when the time comes to sit back, the game becomes open and normally when the Toffees concede.
This exact situation occurred after Sean Dyche made this substitution:
OFF —> Jesper Lindstrøm
ON —> Jack Harrison
Taking off the Danish winger who had a really good performance may have been a bad decision. Ten minutes after this substitution is when Leicester got an equaliser.
Following a corner for Leicester, there was a scramble for a clearance in the box. The ball fell from a short distance away from the goal to Mavididi, who was able to strike it past Jordan Pickford, making the game 1-1.
Dyche at this point clearly was happy to settle for a point, as he took off Ndiaye, who created the majority of the Toffee’s chances today, and brought on defensive midfielder Tim Iroegbunam.
Into the fourth minute of additional time, and Leicester were into the final third. Flashbacks to the late comebacks would have been in the heads of those Everton fans, but luckily for the Blues, the defence were able to deal with it, and the game ended level.
