Everton Demolished By Chelsea At Stamford Bridge

Chelsea beat Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge following an absolute shambles of a performance, especially in the first half, conceding four goals.

The first of six came from an on-form Cole Palmer, who slotted it through Jared Branthwaite’s legs and laid it off to Nicolas Jackson, who gave it back to Palmer as he slotted it into the bottom left corner past Jordan Pickford.

The second was again Cole Palmer, a follow up after a save from English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford due to a shot by striker Nicolas Jackson. He simply heads it into an empty goal.

The third was a mistake by Jordan Pickford, who attempted to clear the ball, but it ended up with Cole Palmer, who just had to lob it into an empty net to confirm his first-half hattrick.

Cole Palmer Stats This Season:

Goals: 20

Shots: 82

Shots on Target: 40

Finally, to end the first half, fullback Marc Cucurella crossed it into the box, and Nicolas Jackson, with yards of space, was simply allowed to turn his body and slot it into the bottom left corner. Halftime, 4-0 Chelsea, simply disgraceful from Everton.

And the second half began the exact same way: a penalty awarded Chelsea’s way and a squabble in the penalty area as trio Palmer, Jackson, and Madueke were seen almost fighting over who should take the spot kick. In the end, Cole Palmer stood up and slotted it past Pickford, sending him the wrong way and making it 5-0 to Chelsea with 25 minutes still yet to play.

It gets even worse for the Toffees as an 88th-minute substitute for Chelsea sees the introduction of Alfie Gilchrist, who two minutes later goes and scores from inside the box with a right-footed shot.

After that performance, the morale at Everton is obviously extremely low, but can they bounce back at all? Here is what their remaining fixtures and the bottom of the Premier League table look like after this:
