3 goals in the last 10 minutes for Bournemouth meant the 2 goal advantage the Toffees had was destroyed.
While Everton were in cruise control for the majority of the match, a complete loss of head following a moment of madness towards the conclusion, where Bournemouth got one, changed the game completely.
The first half was goalless, with Everton clearly on top at the break due to the stats. The Cherries were yet to have a shot on target, and Everton were producing frequent chances but yet to take advantage of one to take the lead.
The first goal of the game originated from a cross from Jack Harrison. The majority of the Blues on the pitch at the time had travelled into the final third due to a moment of pressure, and the cross into Kepa’s penalty area fell to defender Michael Keane, who struck enough power to slot the ball into the bottom corner. This was Everton’s first goal of the season, three games in.

Appearances: 216
Goals: 14
Assists: 9
Yellow Cards: 18
Sending Offs: 1
Only 7 minutes later, an unmarked Dwight McNeil on the edge of the box picked up the ball and played a perfect through ball into the path of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who chipped it over the goalkeeper, making the advantage 2. Goodison Park in full voice as the Toffees were extremely confident and comfortable.

Sean Dyche, at this point, had decided that it was time to make some substitutions, bringing off Iliman Ndiaye, who was incredible and 100% Everton’s Man of the Match, and replacing him with Abdoulaye Doucoure to see the game out. The manager, in his post-match interview, had mentioned at the moment of the substitution he decided to attempt to make the game ugly. To see out the last 10 minutes with a 2 goal looked extremely possible. However, it all changed quickly.
The first of Bournemouth’s comeback came in the 87th minute, when Semenyo got on the end of Ouattara’s cross and flung his foot at it from only yards out. An incredible cross-cross goal meant a simple touch was required to perhaps give the Cherries some hope.
The second in the 92nd minute came when Bournemouth countered, when Sinisterra chipped the ball very highly, so it was a 50/50 in the air. Cook won the header and put it past Jordan Pickford, meaning the Cherries had equalised.
To claim all three points and make it the latest comeback from a 2-0 lead in Premier League history, Bournemouth winger Justin Kluivert brought the ball out wide, dragging out scorer Michael Keane towards the byline, creating empty space in the box that Sinisterra exploited very well. As the ball flew over, contact was made, making it 3-2 to the Cherries. In unison, all Everton fans exited the stadium as another game in the 24/25 Premier League ends without any points on the board.
