Everton Continue To Back Dyche As Toffees Face Leicester

Everton travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in what is a massive game for both sides. Even though it is early doors and there is still a long season ahead, both clubs could do with the points here.

The Toffees currently sit bottom of the Premier League table with consecutive games of losing. The Blues were unexpectedly 2-0 up at Villa Park last week but somehow threw the game away, and the final score ended 3-2 to Aston Villa.

In midweek, Everton hosted Southampton in the Carabao Cup, where an Ashley Young miss from the spot during the shoutout meant Everton exited the competition with the final score being 6-5 on penalties.

However, Leicester’s run of form has been poor as well; last Premier League gameweek they were the victims of a Mateta double for Crystal Palace. From being at a two-goal advantage to drawing the game away at Selhurst Park.

Leicester Premier League Results:

Crystal Palace 2-2 Leicester

Leicester 1-2 Aston Villa

Fulham 2-1 Leicester

Leicester 1-1 Spurs

Due to Everton’s bad run of form to begin the season, speculation over the future of manager Sean Dyche has been a topic of conversation this week. However, Sky Sports have reported that Everton continue to back the Englishman to fulfil their expectations for the season ahead.

It doesn’t help that Everton are currently going through close to what you could call an injury crisis. The matchday squad used in the midweek game in the EFL Cup included in total 6 academy players and 3 goalkeepers.

In Sean Dyche’s pre-match conference, he explained the separate injuries, and here is what he had to say:

  • Branthwaite and Patterson could feature for U21

  • Tarkoswki has returned to training

  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back from illness

  • Mykolenko is back from illness

  • Garner remains ill

  • Keane will undergo a scan to make sure his injury is not as serious

  • Coleman remains out

He also said that Idrissa Gana Gueye will not feature in the game against Leicester due to sad news of his father’s passing 💙

Takeover Talk:

It seems John Textor is getting ever closer and closer to becoming the next Everton owner, replacing Farhad Moshiri, even though Dan Friedkin and his group had reignited interest in purchasing the club earlier this week.
