Beto Brushes Newcastle Aside

Everton defeat Newcastle 3-0 at Goodison Park.

WHAT A GAME!

After a robust and frustrating first half, with some poor performances and disappointing misses, in the second half, Everton were a different side. A side with passion and aggression walked out of the tunnel and put on an amazing display to annihilate Newcastle.

Goals from Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Beto do the job for the Blues as they move out of the relegation zone and into 17th, looking forward to the next fixture: Chelsea (h)

Newcastle had the most possession (62%) but didn't seem to do much with the ball, only managing to get 3 shots on target to Everton's 6!

In Eddie Howe's post-match interview with Amazon Prime, he stated:

“The first half was very even, but it was a scrappy game that we didn’t stamp our authority on enough. We had our best spell in the second half, where we kept them camped in for 15–20 minutes. Then we shot ourselves in the foot.

"We have more games to come, and there’s no break ahead for us. Tonight was probably a combination of a lot of things. Today we didn’t perform, and we have to take ownership of that. We certainly have plenty to reflect on.”

From a more critical post-match interview to a more joyful one, Sean Dyche explained jokingly that Dwight McNeil, Everton's first goal scorer, will not be getting a day off tomorrow! 😂

Overall, it was a very exciting and entertaining game to watch.

Thank You!
