The Dyche Derby: Burnley vs Everton

Sean Dyche returns to his former club Burnley, as Everton visit Turf Moor in what will be another exciting matchup for the Toffees.

With both teams lying close to the bottom of the Premier League table, this would be a massive three points for both teams, and I am sure both Everton and Burnley will be up for it.

Last time out at Goodison Park, Everton defeated Burnley 3-0 in the League Cup. In that game, Burnley didn't really pose a threat with no real end product.

Everton are looking for a fourth consecutive league win for the first time in three years. They last had a run like that without conceding in November 2002. An eighth league victory of the season would equal last season's final total.

Burnley, however, have dropped 16 points from a winning position this season, a joint-high in the division alongside Spurs. Vincent Kompany's side has the worst home form in the Premier League, with three points from their eight matches at Turf Moor.

It seems from the recent performances and the evidence in the league table that Everton should defeat Burnley with no real issue, but whether that will occur or not, I am not sure.

With both Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gana Gueye suspended after collecting 5 yellow cards, Sean Dyche expressed his views on Benjamin Godfrey and Michael Keane, Everton's two backup centre backs:

"There's options there. [Keane and Godfrey] are both very good players and they'll be ready."

Also, Dyche hinted that Andre Gomes may get a full game against Burnley. The Portuguese man has had a rough time returning to his squad after breaking his leg against Tottenham Hotspur a few years ago.

"Andre's been training with us, he needs 90 minutes, we're hoping he can get that tomorrow."

Overall, it will be exciting to see why Dyche changes about the squad and to see if it works well!

Vincent Kompany, an ex-Manchester City player and now Burnley manager, told Sky Sports that Sean Dyche has left his mark at Burnley.

"Sean has been a very special person for this club and where we've been really strong in the 18 months I've been here has been in our incredible effort, character and the sacrifices we've made for each other. I can imagine these qualities were at the forefront of everything Sean did here.

"It lives in this place. It was there before me, and it has continued to live here ever since."
